August in Truro ...
August -- starts with summer, ends with a hint of fall. Although we lose an hour of sunlight, our warm surrounding waters keep our average air temperatures almost up to July's.
According to past records, we expect an average temperature of 69°F, with average lows of 61°F and highs of 77°F. We traditionally get a total of only 2.8 inches of rain (a bit more than July).
Below are some of the activities and events happening about town this month.

Truro Food Pantry
A HUGE heart-felt "THANKS" goes out to the anonymous Truro visitor who, before leaving to return home, took the time and made the effort to drop off their remaining groceries so that the Food Pantry could pass them along. We are immensely GRATEFUL for this thoughtful gesture. Thank you, whoever you are! Please know that it added welcome variety to our supplies, and the quality organic produce and shelf products that were donated are noticed and appreciated by the people who stop in to shop. The Truro Food Pantry welcomes donations of shelf stable items in the baskets located in the lobbies of the Library, the Community Center, and Seamen's Bank. For help with fresh and frozen food donations, please e-mail [email protected] or call Sally at 508-349-2601.
