3 Q REPORT - US Remains Resilient
The 3rd quarter provided mixed results for investments in both fixed-income and equities. The US markets posted small gains with the S&P 500 +1.13% and US Barcap Aggregate Bond + 0.17%. On the other hand, the international markets posted negative results due to slower than expected economic recovery. The MSCI EAFE was down -5.83% while the Barcap Global Bond Index was down -3.14%. Additionally, the emerging markets index also posted negative results for the third quarter with MSCI EM Index down -3.36%. |
PIMCO UPDATE
Typically when a fund changes a manager, WWK recommends placing the fund on a "watch list" and monitoring the short-term performance with more scrutiny. As you may be aware, on September 26th PIMCO Funds announced the departure of their founder Bill Gross. Over the past week, WWK has been in contact with the management at PIMCO via conference calls to determine the impact this announcement will have on the PIMCO Total Return fund and the firm as a whole. PIMCO has replaced Mr. Gross with a team of three very experienced bond managers. However, WWK will continue to monitor the situation closely and if it is determined that a change needs to be made, then we will assist our clients in the search for an appropriate replacement.

WWK Announces New Employee
WWK is proud to announce that Jessica Haelewyn, a registered representative licensed to sell securities, has joined the WWK team. Ms. Haelewyn graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University College of Law. Ms. Haelewyn is licensed to practice law in the States of Michigan and Illinois. Prior to joining WWK, Ms. Haelewyn worked for an elder law firm in Macomb County, Michigan where she focused on strategic Medicaid planning, Veteran's benefits, and Estate planning.
