2016 saw many funding applications of extremely high calibre and it proved to be a very competitive round of student submissions with the final choices being incredibly difficult to make. The applications were well written, structured and carefully compiled to make for compelling reading, producing a vast array of academically interesting project proposals. The foundation received some very ambitious projects with several students opting to build on previously established research by earlier students, whilst others were returning for second and third year funding.
The Skyrail Rainforest Foundation is pleased to announce another successful year of funding to support student research that enhances the protection of tropical rainforests through better understanding and sustainable practices. To see the full list of projects, please check out the latest news story on the Skyrail Rainforest Foundation section of the Skyrail blog.

Visitors to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway were treated to a rare sight at Red Peak station recently. A mature adult male Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo was spotted on the boardwalk in the rainforest canopy. Usually a shy creature, it is not known why he was content to sit in a relatively exposed position for so long but it gave guests plenty of time to take photos and appreciate being so close to this elusive animal!
