The Eleventh Sunday after Trinity | August 7, 2016
COMING SOON: BACK TO SCHOOL SUNDAY, 8/21
It's almost time...
We hope each of you has had a relaxing, refreshing summer. We look forward to welcoming every one back on Sunday, August 21, as our students and teachers return to school: we will take time in the 10:30 service to recognize teachers and students and parents, both those who attend our school and those who attend one of our area's other fine schools.
We'll also begin the fall season of our adult and children's Christian Education, with classes beginning at 9:15 am on Sunday mornings: watch for more details.

And, we will resume our weekday Bible study classes on Wednesdays with Mathew Fenlon at noon in the Ingram Room and Thursdays with David Browder at noon in the Church Narthex. Our Women's Bible Study continues on Thursdays at 6:30 pm in the Ingram Room.

We look forward to seeing you!
NEW SESSION! FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY 8/21
Eleanor and Jaron Bergin lead a new 9 week class of the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University from 6 to 8 pm in the Ingram Room beginning Sunday, August 21.
We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University  (FPU) is that plan! It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!

COLUMBARIUM AVAILABLE FOR RESERVATION
Churches down through the years have provided places for the earthly remains of their parishioners. In keeping with that tradition, St. Thomas' is building a columbarium--a place for the respectful placement of cinerary urns--to provide a final resting place for those with deep connection to and love for our parish and school.  Construction under the Bell Tower will begin this summer.  Flyers are available in the Narthex, or you can contact Cat Anderson, 713-412-4442, or Nancy Graves, 713-559-1622, for more information.

A SEASON OF GRATITUDE
As we review the past year and look forward to the new school year, we at St. Thomas' enter our Season of Gratitude. During this time we will reflect on those individuals who have helped us grow and develop as a church. We are reminded of those things for which we are grateful-our homes, families, friends, jobs, talents, opportunities, our schools and, of course, our church, as well as those who share their time, talent and treasure with us at St. Thomas'.
