Chamber members and elected officials met Tuesday morning to share updates on St. Pete's most pressing policy issues, including plans for water system improvements and the request for support on the extension of the Selmon Expressway.
Pier Approach Contracts Approved
Pier/Downtown Waterfront
 
City Council unanimously approved the contract with the Pier Approach design concept team to move forward with pre-construction phase services. The Chamber will continue to seek input from members through surveys and via discussion at Downtown Waterfront Task Force meetings.
Public Policy Coffee Chat
August 16th 
 
Members are invited to join Council Member Karl Nurse for coffee on August 16 th . Coffee Chats are exclusive opportunities for Chamber members and elected officials to have an informal conversation at a local Chamber business.

Vote YES on Amendment 4
August 30th 
 
Chamber members are encouraged to vote for YES on Amendment 4. This amendment would remove personal property tax and real estate taxes on solar energy systems. The Chamber voted to support YES on 4 and has yard signs available for pickup. 

The Politics of Health Care
August 9th
 
Join the FL Department of Health, League of Women Voters, USF and Galen College of Nursing for a facilitated panel discussion examining health care, media and politics. Seating is limited.

St. Petersburg City Council latest to approve ferry idea

Thursday, St. Petersburg City Council members approved the license and operating agreement with HMS Ferries and funding for the program. The city's $350,000 contribution comes from BP settlement funds. 
 

Demolition to begin soon on 400 Central property in St. Petersburg
