Because of your overwhelming community support by voting for us, we are able to provide more women with the items they need. As a prize winner, we received $5,000 to go towards our program.

Thanks so much to everyone who voted, Tweeted, posted on Facebook, and e-mailed their networks to encourage them to support the Women's Centre. Stay tuned for updates of stories and numbers throughout the year on the difference you made by supporting the women in your community!

Christmas in July Update
Our recent Christmas in July campaign was very successful! We started with no toys for children between the ages of 8 - 12 and now have over 100 new toys to give on their special days! A huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who brought in their donations.

Even though July is over, you are still welcome to organize a toy drive and bring in your donations! In order for our Toy Room to last until the holiday season, we will need 200 more toys.

Green Calgary will be providing an introduction to health and environmental concerns around traditional cleaners. Learn to identify truly green cleaning products and the ingredients that are used to make them. Each participant will make one non-toxic all-purpose cleaner which they can take home for their use, along with a recipe for future use.
Supplies will be provided.

This is My City Art Society is pleased to offer a program that celebrates new songs - your songs! The Song Circle singers will work with new and past songs - all written and developed by program participants - to develop a collection of songs written by and for women. Bring a song, an idea, or just your voice along and let's play together and see how to make it shine!
No instruments necessary.

Chantal from Cree8 will be running a fun workshop on Aboriginal drumming and storytelling. Drums carry powerful significance in Traditional Aboriginal culture. Drums are used for healing, ceremony, and celebration, and each song and drum beat carries the messages and intentions of our ancestors.

This session, we will be creating a unique burlesque-inspired painting. The class is for painters of all levels including those who have never painted before. At the end of this class, you will have a lovely painting that can be proudly displayed anywhere in your home.

No children in these workshops, please.
