It's August, and that means market is exploding with goodness. Finally your favorite pepper producers
Kimberly Farm make their debut for the season! Find them on the corner of 44th (across from
Herr's Family Farm) with piles of chilies, peppers and so much more. Another exciting arrival to market this week are the first ever certified organic peaches from
Kiyokawa Family Orchards. Randy says they are, "prefect kid sized, small, flavorful and juicy!" and they will on special Saturday.
If peaches and peppers don't get you going, then a stop by
Nossa Famila Coffee
is sure to do the trick. They are back this week with fresh roasted beans by the bagful, and of course drip, french press and cold brew options by the cup.You can also sharpen your senses (and your blades) with visit to Gabe at
Dragonfly Forge.
He's at market every other week, so don't miss out!
Portland Pet Food Company, Stone Barn Brandyworks,
and
Portland Bitters Project
also join market this week.
Hollywood Lions collecting eyeglasses
----------------------
This Saturday, the Hollywood Lions Club will be at the farmers market, collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids which will be redistributed to those in need around the world. Their booth will in the usual non-profit community booth area, near the SE corner of the market across from Happy Harvest Farm.
Hollywood Farmers Market seeks board members

 The Hollywood Farmers Market is now accepting applications to join its
Board of Directors in January 2017! Board membership is a terrific opportunity for volunteers, vendors and market lovers to become involved with this successful nonprofit farmers market. The Board welcomes applications from individuals enthusiastic about the Market, and especially those with backgrounds in the areas of
community outreach, agriculture, communications, account/financial planning, human resources and marketing. See

Hollywood Farmers Market Photo Contest!

 This Saturday kicks off the month of August at the farmers market, and with it our month-long photo contest! We are running the contest on Instagram; just post your photo with the hashtag #hfmphotocontest to enter the contest. The winning photographer will receive $20 in market tokens; the runner-up will receive $10 in tokens. If you'd like to follow us on Instagram, our account is @hollywoodfarmersmarketpdx.

- Photo entries should be posted to Instagram with the hashtag #hfmphotocontest.
- Photos must be taken at the Hollywood Farmers Market (between NE 44th and 45th Avenues on Hancock Street, Saturdays from 8am to 1pm) during the 2016 season before August 31st.
- By submitting a photo to this contest you agree to grant to Hollywood Farmers Market the right to use your photo freely, in whole or in part, in any manner or medium.
- Staff and board members of the Hollywood Farmers Market are not eligible to enter.
- Winner will receive $20 in Hollywood Farmers Market tokens, runner-up will receive $10 in tokens.
