Triad Triathlon Team Newsletter
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Make this your year! The TTT is about enabling people of all walks of life and fitness levels to push the boundaries of what they previously thought to be the impossible. Through monthly meetings, generous sponsors (see bottom of newsletter), fellowship, clinics, and regular organized trainings, we offer support, guidance to all interested in the sport of Triathlon. Our team has grown to more than 100 triathletes of all levels and I would like to challenge each and every one of you to pick a new goal for the year. It could be to increase your race distance, or to beat your previous personal course record. It could be to win the AWESOME TTT Race Series. Or, it could be get involved with organizing and leading events/activities with the TTT. You DON'T need to be an expert or the fastest person on the course to volunteer your time, you DO need to like other people's company, like making new friends, and like getting fit in the process. If you have an idea for a TTT training/clinic/event that you'd like to help out with, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the activities directors @ TriadTriTeam@gmail.com

ATHLETE OF THE MONTH!
This month's AOM is the one and only Rob Seltzer!  Great, funny guy, better known as "the cyclist" of the team, Rob has been a very active member, participating in many TTT events. He also is great if you need encouragement.... especially to sign up for events.  :). This year, Rob is signed up for his 5th "Double Down to the Beach" (A 200 mile road ride)... and has also mentioned the possibility of riding back to GSO after the event! After that, he'll be pursuing a PR at Augusta Ironman 70.3 in September.  Click here to learn more about Rob's training and lifestyle secrets.

TRAINING

Monday Open Water Swims:
Brought to you by our friends at Triad Eco Adventures, these open water swims will start at sunrise and end by 7:30 AM. Participants will have access to an outdoor shower but should otherwise arrive fully changed and ready to swim. Water temps in Belews Lake warm up quickly however are currently very much wetsuit MANDATORY. We will post actual start times on our T TTT Facebook page. Please RSVP to ensure we know who is coming. This is NOT a supervised swim, swimmers consent to self-accountability, participate at their own risk and must take the necessary precautions appropriate to their swimming abilities. If a swimmer is unsure about their ability or comfort level in open water, it is best they take a lesson and stay in shallow waters before venturing out to deeper water.

Monday Recovery Runs:
Starting at 6 PM from the Payless Shoes (Target Shopping center near corner of Battleground/Lawndale) This is a conversationally paced out and back recovery run along the greenway with distances up to 5k. The greenway is sparely lit, so it is a good idea to bring along a light to see any debris on the greenway.

Track Tuesday:
5:30 PM @ NC A&T Track: Join Fleet Feet's coach Carl for an intense AND rewarding track workout. Free of charge and lighted track. See Fleet Feet Greensboro's website for additional info.

Track Wednesday
5:30 AM @ Greensboro Day School Track: Interval focused running. We provide the workout which typically lasts 45-60 minutes. We all turn in circles, so no one gets dropped and you can modify the workout to suit your fitness level. (Starts up again 3rd week in April)

Friday Swim:

6 AM @ Bryan YMCA (Location may vary): We'll provide the workout which typically lasts 60 minutes. Focused on drills to help improve your technique. All level's and abilities welcome.

As with all workouts and events, consult the TTT Facebook page for any last minute changes.
