On August 1, Hawley Street will be reopened to eastbound traffic between Midlothian and Chicago Avenue. The detour will end and traffic will run on the new Hawley pavement. Initially, Fairlawn, Ridgemoor, Idlewild, Pershing, Greenview, and Seymour will all be closed on the north side of Hawley, while California and Prairie remain open.
Work will then begin on reconstructing the westbound lane on Hawley Street. The old pavement, curb, and sidewalk will be completely removed. New storm sewer will be installed, the ground cut to the grade of the new road and the stone base installed. The contractor will then install the new curb, pavement, and sidewalk. We expect this work to be complete by mid-October. After that, the final surface of asphalt will be placed and new traffic signals activated.
For the next few days, the contractor will be prepping the new pavement for the traffic switch. Pavement marking will start being installed on Friday. The electricians will continue installing conduit and foundations along Hawley.
Starting Tuesday, August 2, the contractor will begin removing the old westbound pavement to prepare for road excavation.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact us either by emailing me, Mark S. Molnar, PE, Alfred Benesch & Company, directly mmolnar@benesch.com or calling their field office at 224-475-0329.

Any rumors as to when Rosatti's is going to finally open? I see their signage is now up.
They received their sign permit and the Village doesn't have an opening date.

If you are sending your child off to day care or to school, now is the time to make an appointment with a primary care provider to ensure your child is up to date on recommended vaccines. For this upcoming school year, all students entering sixth, seventh and twelfth grades must receive the meningococcal conjugate vaccine.
College students also need to be vaccinated against diseases like whooping cough, the flu and HPV (human papilloma virus). Meningococcal vaccines are recommended for students who will be living in dorms. Parents should consult with their child’s healthcare providers to determine individual needs. Parents who are unable to afford vaccinations may be eligible for the Federal Vaccine for Children program, which offers vaccinations at no cost. The Lake County Health Department’s Immunizations Program at 2303 Dodge Ave., Waukegan provides immunizations through this program. Learn more

If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Route 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues. You can drop them off in the bin on our front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.
We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled. If you are disposing of shoes that have laces, please tie the laces together.
