Summer Interns
The National Breast Cancer Foundation recently worked with the Frisco Education Foundation, Frisco ISD, and Frisco City Council members to develop a six-week internship for a select group of students from high schools within Frisco. Only four of over 100 applicants were selected. The program allowed each student to rotate between various departments to understand how non-profits operate. The last half of the internship was for the students to use their resources, develop a project, and present that project to the Executive team at NBCF. There were also sessions each week that touched on various parts of professionalism: resume building, public speaking, and project management.

The NBCF hosted a banquet at their headquarters in Frisco to honor these students. It was also a chance for their parents and families to see the hard work from the six-week program. " The NBCF Summer Intern Program is one of the best and most comprehensive programs that I have ever seen, providing attention to detail and involvement of the entire company," said MJ Pritchard, FEF Board President and Vice President of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. City Council member Bill Woodard was also in attendance.
