Ladies and gentlemen,

Thank you for your safe and caring attitude while enjoying the club we are fortunate to have.

Stay hydrated in this 90-100 degrees heat. We can look forward to cooler weather and the opening of our Range G reactionary pistol target range in the not to distant future.

Club News - Construction is the main topic lately
Construction moves forward on range G. Check  www.parkersportsman.com front page especially the PCSC Facebook insert for up to date information as to progress and range closure due refacing the berms. The façade framing is done. Looks like the Poolville barber shop I noticed.  Scott tells me the range will likely be open about the time the weather starts to cool a bit.  Yeah !

We've had a variety of different birds nest in our shooting pavilions. This season we have the Finch.  The male is red in color and looks like sparrow dipped in raspberry juice. I suppose they don't mind the noise...or us getting target frames ;-)
The nest is on SW corner of Range B above the target frames.

Parting Shots ~

We are fortunate to have had George Mathes take care of our target frame building and more for several years.  Thank you, sir, for all the dedication and good work you've done for the club !  George is passing the keys to the maintenance shed to Jon Kitts.  Jon has already been mending and making new target frames and with that change of personnel I've taken to noticing something we all need reminding of now and again.  Placement of targets on the frames in particular, too close to the edge leads to destruction of the frames and more work for George and now for Jon.  These guys volunteer their time and the club pays for material.  Let's be extra careful of placing our targets too close to the edge...so this doesn't happen so often...

Even this bottom one is almost too close to edge.

Sincerely,

Chuck Garrett
