Our family of red wolves is doing very well (fewer than 50 of these critically endangered wolves can be found in the wild today). The four pups received the second of their three required health checks last week. They were vaccinated, dewormed and weighed.
Ever wonder how much a 10-week old red wolf weighs? Answer: 15-17 pounds. Wolf Haven's long-time photographer
Julie Lawrence was here to capture the examination in pictures, including the mother and father awaiting their pups return. Wolf Haven is a member of the red wolf Species Survival Plan management group.
Repeat of an old survey shows that Americans are feeling kinder toward all species - particularly those they once despised. Well, except for mosquitos.
