February 2016 Newsletter
 From the Library Director...

The community is the heart of every strong public library and our collective goal is to provide the services, resources, programs and materials that enable the community to thrive. By being responsive to important local issues, we can also provide the space and opportunity to encourage important community conversations on issues of interest to all of our residents. This is the critical leadership role of the library: to assess, anticipate, connect and respond to the needs of our community.

Libraries are well positioned to do this because they are generally centrally located and we welcome and serve the needs of all members of the community. Our missions are community centered and focused on lifelong learning, both in our physical spaces as well as through our digital presence. As trusted stewards of taxpayer dollars, we set good examples for resource sharing, collaboration and sustainability.

I am excited to get to know and experience the Cornwall community in the months ahead. I look forward to meeting you and determining the ways we can continue to best serve and grow this wonderful town. Please contact me by phone or email, or stop in to see me, and let me know what you're thinking. If I don't see you here, I will most likely meet you on my walks around town.
