"Empowering Leaders, Inspiring Learners, Developing Relationships"
August 3, 2016

Welcome McCulloch Families

Dear McCulloch Families,

Wow!  It's hard to believe another summer has come and gone already.  We hope that you have all had a chance to Sharpen Your Saws and are gearing up for another amazing school year!  We can't wait for our students to be back with us!  While this is a very exciting time, we also know that you have many questions as the year begins.  While we won't be able to answer all of your questions in this letter, the following information will give a brief overview of some important information.

Your partners in education~
Mrs. Golmen and Mrs. Floyd

On August 4th and 5th McCulloch Staff and three members of our PTO will participate in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People training. During this training we will learn how to personally model the principles of effectiveness. We will find a common language of leadership amongst our team. Most importantly, we will continue to develop our commitment to individual, team and school wide excellence. We are so excited to begin living the habits with our learners and families this school year.

Student Drop Off/Pick Up

Arrival Procedures: Students will proceed directly to their classrooms unless they need to eat breakfast. If eating breakfast, they will eat in the cafeteria first.

Dismissal Procedures:  Bus riders will be directed to the bus lanes at the front of the school. Students who are car riders will be held inside the school building until called from the car line which will be at the back of the school. You must have a car line sign to pick your child up. If your car line sign is not visible, you will be asked to park and go to the front office to pick up your child.  You can pick up your car line sign at Open House. A map and important facts to remember regarding our car line can be found  HERE. In order for our car line to run effectively and efficiently, please do not line up prior to 3:15 p.m. due to the traffic congestion that it causes. Also, keep in mind that we typically have our car line complete within 10 minutes of dismissal.

Before and After School Care

The Republic School District offers student programming during non-school hours through STRIPES 360. Care is offered before and after school daily and during days that school is not in session. The Tiger STRIPES program will be using online enrollment only for registration. As a reminder, each year students must re-enroll in this program.

Registration for Tiger STRIPES will require a $30 registration fee along with the first two weeks of tuition. This must be completed by August 11. Online or in-person payment is available. A STRIPES 360 staff member will be available at all elementary Open Houses to answer questions and to take payments.

To register for Tiger STRIPES/TEENS and to learn more about STRIPES 360 programs, visit republicschools.org/STRIPES360 .

Our student handbook can be found HERE. Once you have read it, please sign the Procedure and Policy Acknowledgement Page that was sent to you by mail last week. These can be returned at Open House.   It is important to sign this form so your child is able to utilize technology across the school. If your child is too young to sign, please place their initials in the "student signature" area.

PTO/Watch Dog Dads
We encourage each of you to become involved with our McCulloch PTO and our WATCH DOG Dads.  There will be a station at Open House to provide you with membership information. Please join PTO and support McCulloch Elementary. We are a successful school family because of our McCulloch PTO and WATCH Dog Dads Program! With both of these programs and any volunteer service, we asked that you complete a background check.
