ON THE MAINSTAGE

August: Osage County
by Tracy Letts
Directed by Nancy Wonders
July 29 through Aug. 14

Winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for best drama, the Tony Award for best play and the Drama Critics Circle Award, August: Osage County is one of just six plays in history to garner this "triple crown" of American playwriting. The play is as fiercely funny as it is bitingly sad. When the Weston family unexpectedly reunites after dad disappears, their Oklahoman family homestead explodes in a frenzy of repressed truths and unsettling secrets, confronting deep-seated issues that reflect the complex challenges-the good and bad-faced by the contemporary American family.

The first three shows played to near-capacity audiences, so don't wait to get your tickets!

Here's what patrons have to say about the show:

"I just watched the best play I've ever seen in Flagstaff: August: Osage County at Theatrikos. I've watched A Lot of plays and I've never before had to sit and just feel all the emotions when a play ended. I laughed and cried and felt anxious and relieved. I highly recommend you go see this play!"

"Saw an amazing performance of August: Osage County at Theatrikos last night. The cast was fantastic, the play powerful and it was just wonderful all the way around. Anybody who doesn't have a ticket should get one."

"August: Osage County makes you think about life and how you're living it. Its heartfelt dialogue will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. The show's complexities won't let your mind rest for days, as a good play should. The amazingly talented cast rivals the best big cities' theatre companies. This is quite possibly the best dramatic production in Flagstaff in the last decade."
