Spanish 17th Century Vargueno in Walnut.            This 17th century cabinet is quickly recognized as Spanish. The style developed from ecclesiastical models. We have just had this professionally waxed to a rich walnut surface. Behind the fall front is a bank of various sized drawers with geometrical carvings. The fine base is a restoration to the specifications of this period with spiral and baluster turned supports, carved shell support arms, and rosettes, all of which is above a trestle base with carved feet. Note the significant features of this rare form including the carvings, heavy hand wrought iron hardware, and the fitted interior.  These were made in two parts for ease in handling  and use. H.55", w. 31", d. 14" top, d. 17" base.  $2375.

This English mahogany oval topped gateleg dropleaf table is a restored 18th century beauty with a molded edge top, so-called "straight cabriole" legs, shaped apron, and pad feet. I often get requests for large early dining  tables but can seldom find them available, much less at such a reasonable value. This a very solid and substantial table ready to last for many more generations with its excellent wood and timeless style.  H. 28", l. 52.5", w. 18" leaves closed, w. 71.75" open. Act without hesitation at $1295.
