DID YOU KNOW?

Colorado is the only state to have had three Governors serve in a single day.

New Executive Officer

I t is with mixed emotions that the Board of Directors announces the departure of former Executive Officer, Lisa Laughlin. The Board of Directors has hired her replacement, Katie Middleton. Lisa has been a member of the Home Builders Association of Southwest Colorado for 20 years
and in the E.O. role for the past 3 years. Under Lisa's leadership, the HBA enjoyed a tremendous growth in membership, excellent member retention and the development and success of our meetings and events held throughout the year. Lisa made the tough choice to leave her position and focus on her family and business, Laughlin Ventures, effective July 25. She will be greatly missed, and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.

Katie will join the HBA full-time as the new E.O. on August 15. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience, having been an HBA member for 12 years and previously serving on the Board of Directors for 6 years. Katie is a former Banker specializing in compliance and business development. Prior to banking, she worked in retail sales, restaurant management, and event planning. Katie is an all around community organizer and has recently become a fellow with Growing Partners of the SW. We are excited to have Katie on board and look forward to helping her grow the organization and continue to make the HBASC a reliable, fun and valuable resource for you! Click here to welcome her to the association.

Community Service Invitation

Emil Wanatka of Timberline Builders is forming an ad-hoc committee to do some improvements sought out by Home Aid, Colorado Association of Home Builder's charity of choice.

They are looking to make improvements at the Volunteers of America Homeless Shelter, and the Women's Safe House right here in Durango. These projects have historically been very instrumental in team building and forming lasting bonds among our members. Please get involved today!
