Finding Faith Through Fiction Book Club will meet August 1

The next discussion will be on Monday, August 1 at 7 pm in the Undercroft.  The group will discuss The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis.

The Screwtape Letters The Screwtape Letters is a classic masterpiece of religious satire that entertains readers with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below." At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation - and triumph over it - ever written.

The book is available through the Mid-Continent Library System. Please join us!

Cursillo Weekend planned for September 8 - 11, 2016

There will be a Cursillo Weekend opportunity this coming September 8-11 to be held at the Heartland Presbyterian Center in Parkville, MO.
Information and registration packets are located outside the office door.

Cursillo is a ministry of the Episcopal Church, under the authority of the Presiding and Diocesan Bishops. The goal of Cursillo is to bring Christ to the world and the world to Christ by empowering and equipping Christians with the knowledge and encouragement to live out their Baptismal Covenant to serve Christ.

What is Cursillo and why might we want to participate?  It is:
  • an opportunity to grow in faith and in spirituality
  • a deeper understanding of the teachings of Jesus and how we can serve Him.
  • an experience of living and sharing with others in a loving and caring Christian community and realizing that this can be extended into our own environment
  • a continuing community that gives support and encouragement to help Christians carry out their Baptismal Vows
