A Visit from the Keyes Family!
We are very pleased to welcome Gretchen and Samuel and James Keyes  back to the Advent and to welcome Mary who is here for the first time.  Fr. Keyes was part of the staff here several years ago while he was studying for his PhD at Boston College.  Since leaving here, he has been the rector of St. Paul's Church in Greensboro, Alabama, and is presently Chaplain and member of the faculty of St. James School in Hagerstown, Maryland.  It is a delight to have the Keyeses with us here again.

From Ray Porter
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the cards, and most importantly your prayers. The packet of good wishes and pictures by some of our little ones was a great surprise and warmed my heart.

I am doing well and just have to be patient as this surgery takes 6-8 weeks to get back to normal.  My support system here is wonderful as Fr. Warren, Fr. Wood, Deacon Noyes and Julianne Ture can attest.

I miss the Advent and all of you very much and look forward to returning as soon as my surgeon says I can.

Know you are all in my prayers as well.

God bless you all!

Raymond

Parish Work Days-Saturdays, August 6 & 13, 10 am to 2 pm-Mark your Calendars! All parishioners are invited to come out for one of two Parish Work Days to help spruce up and do general maintenance on our beloved building and grounds.  It's a great chance to meet and get to know others in our parish family by serving alongside each other.  No experience necessary!  Tools and supplies will be on hand, and we'll share lunch afterward.  More details forthcoming; please let Fr Sammy or Deacon Daphne know if you are interested.

This email highlights just a few of the items in this week's announcements. For much more, go to http://www.theadventboston.org/announcements/.

Sunday's Collect
O God, the protector of all that trust in thee, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy:  Increase and multiply upon us thy mercy, that, thou being our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we finally lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.   Amen.
