We are now at the halfway point of our summer program, and students have been settling into the rhythms of the program after a busy first week. During this time, we have had a number of off campus activities, including a high ropes team building course, a private tour of the Clark Museum to discuss contemporary, impressionist, and modern art, and to Boston, MA, where we toured Fenway Park, enjoyed Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and went to an amazing performance of "Cuisine & Confessions" at the Majestic Theatre. Students were surprised with a special treat after the performance when they were able to meet cast and crew backstage and pose for photos.
In the past week the students have been working hard. Every morning starts off with dialogue sessions where, by sharing their own personal stories and listening to the stories of their peers, they explore the concepts of identity, personal and national narratives, and creating change in conflict situations. In the afternoon they continue to work in pairs or teams on their projects in art, film, and music classes, projects that they will present at the end of the month at the banquet and the showcase.
