During the month of August when our services are lay-led, you will be able to read Torah, Haftarah (in English), lead a discussion, co-lead the service.

 Please also  bring canned food for the 
Kingsbridge Riverdale Food Pantry.
 This donation of canned food is especially important as food pantries across America are experiencing shortages of food for those in need.

Extended Kiddush following the service is
sponsored by members of the congregation

Extended Kiddush following Shabbat morning service.  

The Temple will provide bagels and cream cheese.  People are asked to bring additions
(such as Tuna Salad, Egg Salad, Chumus or anyhting you would like but make it dairy please) to the table to enhance the offerings.  You might want to honor a birthday, an anniversary, commemorate a yahrzeit or just show off your culinary talent
(or shopping ability :)You could also 
make a donation to the Extended Kiddush fund.
 
Call the office (by Wednesday)  to let them know if you will be contributing to the Kiddush so we can plan properly.

My name is Andrew Ockenden; I'm the new Recruiter for  NYC Volunteers at  iMentor : a mentoring
organization that  pairs college-educated adults with low-income youth, in order  to develop skills for  college readiness.  Mentor-mentee pairs  interact through a combination of  weekly emails and 
monthly in-person meetings that iMentor organizes.
 
One of our partner schools is just a short distance from   your synagogue - so this would truly be a local opportunity.
