Friday Game Night Cancelled
The Family Game Night planned for this evening
has been cancelled.
Special "Find": Time Capsule from 1900 Discovered!
That "boulder" seemed to make a funny sound when the jackhammer hit it while removing the old foundation under the Bell Tower. Sure enough: it wasn't a boulder but a lead box set into place by All Saints parishioners and the Rev. Moore back in 1900 when the cornerstone was laid. What a find! The jackhammer didn't do as much damage as water seepage and the passage of 116 years, abut the box has held its secrets. On Sunday, June 12 the content of the box will be on display after the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services. Come see what's inside!
Attention Sunday School Teachers!
Sunday School Teachers will meet this Sunday, June 12 with Rev. Aimee and Rev. Vicki immediately following the 10:00 a.m. service in the Parish House living room. We will be discussing upcoming changes and plans for our Sunday School Curriculum and upcoming Teacher Training. Please plan to attend this meeting as we move forward with our very important ministry to the children of All Saints. Please feel free to bring your coffee and snacks to our discussion. We look forward to seeing you and are so grateful for your ongoing wonderful ministry! Please contact Rev. Vicki at 969-4771 with questions.
Bell Tower Work Moves Inside, Temporarily

This past week the contractor poured concrete in the four 26 foot holes drilled last week, creating pilings on which they will build a cap of rebar steel and concrete with vertical steel rods to form the foundation of our new Bell Tower. The contractor needs to take down a portion of the sanctuary wall to the north of the Baptistery, to make room for the wooden forms into which the pilaster concrete will be poured, and by the north aisle, where steel shoring must be added to support the roof during the Bell Tower foundation work. So, maybe as soon as this Sunday you will find construction barriers in the rear of the church. We expect the interior to be back to normal within three weeks. Thank you for your understanding.
Matching Gift Fund Inspires Support; Gifts of All Sizes Needed, Appreciated
The How Firm Our Foundation campaign continues to generate wonderful success. So far 135 gifts totaling $8.8 million have been received. We are deeply grateful for everyone's support. To view the Honor Roll of Donors, which is the list of all who have given thus far, please head to the campaign website: www.asbts.org/how-firm-our-foundation.

The matching gift challenge announce last month has already inspired 52 new gifts. Every dollar committed by July 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to a maximum of $500,000. Another $206,000 is needed to fulfill the match. Remember, all gifts paid over 1 to 5 years qualify for the match!

If you've been thinking about your gift we encourage you to finalize your commitment soon. We hope to reach the $10 million mark later this summer so we can authorize work on the sanctuary construction drawings.

To learn more or if you are ready to make a gift, please call the Church Office or visit the information table on the patio. Our goal is to achieve 100 percent participation in the campaign.
Author Reading at All Saints
June 22 at 7:15pm
All Saints' member Kathie Deviny will read from her new mystery titled "Death in the Old Rectory" on Wednesday, June 22nd at 7:15 p.m. in the Parish House after Eventide and dinner. Her cozy-style mystery, set in Seattle, is the second in her "Grace Church Mystery" series. Mystery author Mary Daheim describes it with the words, lovable characters, atmospheric charm, and sins from the past make this a must for 'brick and murder' readers. it is among the ten bestselling titles at the Episcopal Bookstore.

For many years Father Robert has called the old rectory in Seattle's Grace Church home. No longer. An enterprising volunteer has a plan to convert it to a thrift store and offices for the church's food bank. Very reluctantly, the single Episcopal priest moves to a church-owned condo., realizing that if all goes well, he will soon be married to the love of his life, who happens to be the Bishop's secretary. Then disaster strikes. One of the thrift shop volunteers, a charismatic man named Nick, is murdered execution-style. Did his past catch up with him, or was he simply in the wrong place at the wrong time? Other incidents follow: an explosion, vandalism, and an attempt on Father Robert's life. The efforts of the police are bolstered by the colorful staff and members of the church. But will it be enough to prevent Grace Church from becoming history?

Summer Music at All Saints
Summer worship at All Saints is always a fun and exciting experience. Each year at our 10am summer services we present a broad variety of musical styles and players. This year we're planning a Summer of Sharing Our Gifts. We need your help.

All that we are and all that we have are gifts from God. This summer, you are invited to share your musical gifts in worship at All Saints in response to God's generosity to you.

I'd like to ask everyone, of all ages, who play instruments, sing and have musical gifts of any kind, to participate in the music of our 10am Sunday worship services. If you are a pianist, a violinist, a guitarist, a singer - or even play the saw - will you tell me? I'm putting together not only soloists, but ensembles and a summer choir as well. Whatever level you feel comfortable as a musician, whether it's a solo or playing in a group, I need your help! This is a great opportunity for you to share your gifts in a wonderful, safe and meaningful way!

God's Peace,
Steve O'Connor (steve@asbts.org or 969-4771)

P.S. Give me a call, email or grab me between services and let's talk more about how we can make All Saints' SUMMER of SHARING OUR GIFTS the best that it can be! I can't wait to make music together!!
