tech-Tuesday Drop-ins
Tuesdays 3-4:30
July 11- August 9

Elementary school-age children are welcome to drop in between 3-4:30pm and try out the library's cool STEM materials. Tinker with ozobots, littleBits, Snap Circuits, robots Dash & Dot, etc. Tables will be set up so that small groups can try their hand at these materials. Parents and older siblings are welcome to join the fun!

Up in Arms Puppets
Thursday, July 28th 2-3pm

Up in Arms Puppets present Mr. I., The Library Guy, as he helps his friend Terrence the Tortoise prepare for another race with Henry the Hare. Based on Aesop's famous fable, "The Tortoise and the Hare", a cast of colorful, fun puppet friends find different solutions, inspired through books, to help us all prepare for a race EVERYONE can win...becoming our HEALTHIEST SELF! Through interactive songs and movement, The Library Guy and his friends will keep the entire audience happy, healthy and engaged!

Geared for children grades Pre-K-4, but families are welcome.
No registration needed for this free program.   
Ready Readers Story/Craft Hour!
Fridays, 11am-12pm
July 8th - August 12th

"Ready for anything" will be the theme of the day with stories, songs, crafts, and other related activities to help build life-long readers!

This program is for children ages 3 1/2 to 6.
No registration necessary.

Anime Afternoon
Friday, July 29th 3-5pm

Love Anime and Manga? Join us for an anime movie as part of our YA Fridays. We'll even have some Japanese snacks to enjoy! This month's film is the classic, "Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind," directed by Hayao Miyazaki. (Rated PG) Afternoon Anime is open to tweens and teens from 6th - 12th grade.

This program is free, no registration is required.

Yoga for Tweens and Teens
Mondays, August 8 & 15
11am - Noon

These fun, engaging, teen-appropriate classes will explore yoga and mindfulness using postures, breathing practices, creative visualization, and relaxation & meditation techniques. Students will learn how to redirect their energy and relieve stress and anxiety, while developing confidence in themselves and their abilities.
 
This program is open to middle school and high school students. A segment will also be devoted to discussions that center on teen-related issues like self-esteem, accomplishment, body image, stress, anger and happiness, offering young people the chance to express themselves safely, in community.

Let's Go Make a Kite!
Wednesday, July 27th 1-2:30pm

Adults, join kite expert, Charles Stewart, as he leads us in the assembly of a diamond-shaped kite. The kite will be decorated first, then assembled. You will leave with a completed kite to take home.

Mr. Stewart, often referred to as The Kite Whisperer, will also talk of kite theory: how and why they fly, why wind flies the kite - not the owner, and what to do when there isn't enough wind to lift the kite.

Coloring Books for Adults
Tuesday, July 26th 6-7:30pm

Come to unwind, while expressing your creativity! Adult coloring books offer a variety of designs, often intricate, just waiting to get lost in. Both colored pencils and fine tipped markers will be available, along with a wide variety of coloring books to choose pages from.

International Film Night
Friday, July 29th 7pm

This month's film is "Brooklyn," directed by John Crowley. This critically acclaimed film is set in Ireland and America. As a young Irish immigrant navigates her way through 1950s Brooklyn, she is torn between her new American life and her old and familiar Irish one. Rated PG-13.

Event is free and no registration required. All films shown in their original language with English subtitles (including films in English.) Doors open at 6:30 and film starts promptly at 7:00pm 
Big Mural Coloring Event
Monday, August 1st, All Day

Stop by on August 1st to help to color our monster-sized, ginormous mural. Everyone is welcome - kids to adults - to help complete the coloring of this mural. A community effort!

A table will be set up as you enter the Library. Crayons will be provided.
Summer Reading Finale
Wednesday, August 3rd 1-3pm

Join us for the finale of our Adult Summer Reading Program. Get the chance to meet fellow readers, read reviews, chat about books, and eat pizza!
