THE 45th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

SEPTEMBER 29 - OCTOBER 1, 2016
COLUMBUS, OHIO -  COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER

This year's conference is proving to be the most successful yet. Sponsors are continuing to show generosity, and new sponsors are registering and providing GIS with much appreciated support.  Register now while there are some slots still available

Recruiters Roundtable - Your sponsorship and registration in the 45th Annual International Conference includes an opportunity to participate in the first Annual Recruiters Roundtable. This session will bring together recruiters from around the country to discuss industry best practices, share ideas and hear directly from students and recent alumni on the overall recruiting process. Earlier this year, GIS conducted a  survey that was shared with more than 4,000 students and recent alumni to determine what participants are looking for in an employer, which strategies companies have employed that work to get a potential employee's attention, as well as to gain an understanding of the influences that contribute to the decision to work for their employer of choice.

There are many ways that your company can participate. Click "Sponsorship Opportunities" below to explore!

Don't miss the chance to meet with current GIS students, as well as connect with industry and alumni. There are still opportunities left to attend and participate.

"DIVE IN" AT THE GIS ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE!
THE FESTIVAL FOR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN INSURANCE

"Dive In is helping insurance get fit for the future, highlighting the business case for diverse and inclusive workplaces and providing practical ideas and inspiration for how to bring about positive change." Taken from:  http://diveinfestival.com .

We are proud to announce that this year,
the GIS Annual Conference was added as a global Dive In Festival city! There are over 45 events taking place over 3 days at the end of September, and GIS is participating.
This year the Festival is going global and including cities and events where diversity and inclusion initiatives and programs are taking center stage.  Earlier this year, GIS students created a diversity committee to give themselves a voice in this topic.

The Dive In Festival was first held in the Lloyd's market in 2015.  It was a market-wide four-day celebration of the bottom line benefits of diversity and inclusion for the insurance industry led by Inclusion@Lloyd's.

Programming for the conference is being planned and GIS is thrilled to have this opportunity to share with our members! There are currently three Gamma Iota Sigma events listed on the   Dive In Festival Event Page.

For more information about the festival, and to appreciate our excitement about its inclusion in the conference, please visit the  Dive In Festival Webpage  and download the official Dive In Festival app for iPhone and Android.

SARAH RUMON - BLOGGING FOR MYPATH
GIS Board Member, International Student Representative, and
University of St. Thomas student Sarah Rumon recently made a wonderful contribution to the MyPath website by writing as a guest blogger.  She shares her experiences with GIS, and how she was told early on by a keynote speaker at the GIS Annual International Conference that "working in the in surance industry is the best-kept secret." Sarah noted that "I now consider my involvement in GIS to be the best choice that I have made for my education and my future career."

BECOME A SUSTAINING PARTNER

In 2015, GIS implemented a fundraising initiative designed to allow the industry to have a sustaining impact on the development of the next generation of insurance professionals; the Sustaining Partners Program. Because of the support of our Sustaining Partners, GIS has been able to increase the number of strategic initiatives designed to promote the educational and professional development of our students!

Sustaining Partners have the unique opportunity to not only contribute financially to the success of the organization and its students but also take an active role in its direction and the long-term impact on the industry, providing the tools and resources for exceptional talent.

We would like to  show our gratitude to our  current Sustaining Partners!
