Welcome to the JAX Family!
Doug Zollinger, Director of Refrigeration
We'd like to welcome our new director of the Refrigeration department, Doug Zollinger. Doug started with JAX last month and we're excited to have him on board. Doug entered the industry by way of learning from his father who was a contractor. He loves his career and wouldn't change even if he could.

Doug is a water lover to the max! He feels most at home on the water or in the water... any water. He's an avid water skier. Even at 63, he still enjoys barefooting with his buddies. He and his wife enjoy traveling together, particularly cruising. They enjoy both ocean and river cruises.

Christmas is his favorite holiday. When the family gets together, never-ending laughter ensues. His dream car is a 67 Corvette Stingray Roadster with 427, factory side pipes and knock-off rims. Burgundy with a black interior. Doug pulls for the Greenbay Packers (GO PACK GO!) and his favorite move is Sixth Sense. If he could dine with anyone, he'd choose John F Kennedy because it be fascinating to know and understand everything that happened behind closed doors politically.

Welcome to the #JAXFamily, Doug. It's been great getting to know you!
Yasmeen Terrell,
HR Specialist
Recently, our HR department welcomed Yasmeen Terrell to the team as a Specialist who will assist with daily demands. We'd like to share a bit about her.

As a true Jacksonville native, Yasmeen considers the city home regardless of where ever life may take her. However, she loves to travel to Jamaica when ever possible. When she's not hard at work, she enjoys spending time with family, taking relaxing naps, decorating or scrolling through TikTok. She's a big Jags fan, loves Marvel movies and adores Christmas. If she could, she'd drive a Porsche Truck and share a meal with Beyonce!

She made her way to the HR field after earning her degree in Sociology. If she ever made a career change she would love to be a professional home organizer.

Welcome to the #JAXFamily, Yasmeen!
Our employee spotlight this month is Julius Eggleton, a sheet metal mechanic for our Mechanical Department. Julius made his way to us because he felt like JAX is one big, happy family. He truly feels at home with our company and loves what he does. If he could make a career change he would become a plumber or work with piping. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and spending time with his fiance and children. Miami is Julius's favorite sports team, he loves the movie Love & Basketball and New Year's is his favorite holiday. He'd love to drive a GMC Denali 3500 HD and travel to the Bahamas and Africa.
If he could dine with anyone, he'd choose his grandmother.

Thanks for sharing with us, Julius. We're so happy you're part of the #JAXFamily!

Department Updates
The only thing JAX Refrigeration’s field team enjoys more than seeing the new compressors arrive on site is Crane Day! Three adiabatic condensers finally arrived and are safely in place.

Things are starting to come together. A big shout out to John Osborn and the rest of JAX’s field team for doing a great job as usual. Keep up the good work!
From concept to completion, MEAS designs to actual site conditions. From chillers to complete machine room, our team works with equipment suppliers to deliver the best solution.

Often overlooked in chiller systems are balancing, air control and expansion. Without these the system will not operate as design and performance will be erratic. MEAS-JAX has the experience to design a system that is ideal for you.

Our JAX Mechanical Service Department fields the following
common questions on a daily basis:
How long should a cooling system last?
Life expectancy depends on the amount of cooling run time and how often the system receives preventative maintenance. In some parts of the country, the average residential cooling system’s run time is as much as 2,500 hours per year. Thus, after around 30,000 hours of cooling run time (12 years), your AC system will start to wear out, and you might consider replacement versus repair(s).
Proper (and consistent) preventative maintenance extends the life of an AC system.

Indoor air quality and system operation?
An out-of-warranty system that requires frequent repairs may be more than an expensive nuisance — it could also be unhealthy, even unsafe in some instances. Old dirty indoor coils, dirty burners, and cracked heat exchangers (if you have gas heat) will affect the quality of the air you breathe and will affect proper system operation.
