This week our community was rocked by the news that one of our beloved Lancers--outstanding senior and band member--Joseph Ro, has passed. Our hearts go out to his loving family, to the multitude of friends he made, and to the countless lives he touched over his four years at Sunny Hills.
Yesterday, students gathered at lunch to remember their friend Joseph; as you can see from the pictures below, Joseph impacted many people at Sunny Hills in such a positive way. Joseph loved being part of band, and his friends in that group loved him back. Mr. Ro, Joseph’s father, mentioned that Joseph was happiest when he was playing an instrument with that ensemble.
Mrs. Ting, our instrumental music director, said about Joseph:
Joseph was a tremendous asset to our program. He was a talented musician, extremely hard-working, and one of the nicest guys around.
He was welcoming and friendly to everyone,
and his peers looked up to him as a leader in our group.
At Sunny Hills we have a motto: Once a Lancer, always a Lancer. Joseph Ro will always be remembered as an outstanding friend, student, musician, leader, and Sunny Hills Lancer.
