Neuroscientists used functional magnetic resonance imaging to provide insights into the role of the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex as a component network of brain regions that support motivated behavior. The study led by a neuroscientist and member of the Brain Institute at  Florida Atlantic University and collaborators sought to better understand how motivational control processes help maximize performance when faced with task challenges.

As a reminder, the FAU Jupiter newsletter is sent every Friday to *only* FAU faculty and staff. On the last Friday of every month, we send out an external newsletter to FAU faculty/staff and the community to highlight the campus and your accomplishments. In order to learn more about the struggles and successes of FAU students and what FAU can do to help, two surveys will go out to students this spring: Healthy Minds Study (HMS) and National College Health Assessment (NCHA).

Please encourage students to complete these two surveys coming from the President, Provost, and Student Affairs. Please encourage students to watch for these confidential surveys and complete them. HMS will be open from January 27 to February 16. NCHA will be sent to a random sample of 10,000 students from February 17 to March 6.Survey results will be used to budget and plan student programs and resources to support student mental health and physical health...
