"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Emmanuel."

Dear Concordia Alumna/us,
As we enter this season of Advent and prepare for the coming of the Lord, we reflect upon all of the blessings in our lives, including our family, friends, and you, our esteemed alumni. Thank you for your support throughout the year in so many ways, from volunteering at our events and providing monetary gifts, to keeping CUAA and the entire Concordia family in your prayers.
Following is a beautiful poem written by 1984 alumnus Rev. Dr. John Sproul. He wrote this verse for the lighting of the Advent wreath. It can be sung to the tune for "See, Amid the Winter's Snow." We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Wick ablaze now sharing flame
Dawning of the Light proclaim;
Messenger of Advent, shine
Lead us to the child divine.
Christ, rekindle light in us;
In that shining rapturous,
Those in shadow lead to day
To the lost reveal the way.
From all of us at Concordia, may you and your family have a wonderful Christmas filled with the light, beauty, and love of our Lord Jesus.

Concordia campus lit with the beauty of this Christmas season
During Advent, one of the highlights is lighting our campus Christmas tree. While you are always welcomed back on campus to see the beautiful decorations -- or at anytime for any reason! -- we thought we would include a photo of the tree in your alumni newsletter. Hopefully it will remind you of the light of this season and of all things beautiful, including our Lord Jesus. (Photo courtesy of Rev.
Randy Scott Duncan, campus pastor

See you in the New Year! Upon returning from break, we have a very special event we would love for you to attend. Our next Soup with Substance will be featuring Weldon Long!
