Contents: Stage 2 Reopening June 1st, Chamber Spotlight, Restaurant Listing, Other News & More
May 2020

This past week, State officials revised the Stage 2 Reopening plan for our area that will begin this coming Monday, June 1st. We will be excited to see our local retail shops open back up for business if they so choose, and restaurants will have the option of reopening for outside dining in addition to continuing with curbside / take-out options (see below for the latest local restaurant options listing). Also, our lodging members can once again receive Maine-based guests as of this coming Monday. The Maine DECD Website has the latest industry-specific prevention checklists and staged reopening details fyi.

As we head into June, we still have a ways to go in restoring our collective health and confidence as we continue to sequentially reopen our local economy in stages. We all can continue to do our part by:

  • Respecting the new operating procedures that businesses are following
  • Supporting our local business community, either in-person or online
  • Staying positive and encouraging people to adhere to safety protocols such as wearing masks when outside, in retail shops, etc.

If there is anything in particular that the Chamber can help you out with, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

Monthly Chamber Spotlight

You’ve likely driven by Genest many times at 546 Elm St. (Route 1) in Biddeford, but if you’ve never stopped in for a visit, we highly recommend it. Their many product lines and capabilities, along with the range of services they provide, are quite impressive...

Saco Cub Scout Pack 311 Fundraiser this Weekend
This year the local cub scout pack, headed up by member Sven Johnson of Renewal by Andersen of Maine , is doing a contact-free bottle drive to raise money for our local food pantries and Covid-19 relief efforts. Collection dates are this Saturday and Sunday, 5/30 and 5/31. There will be a contactless drop-off point at the Saco Fire Station, with an option for community members to sign-up for curbside pickup alternatively. Donations will also be accepted. Please help this effort if you can for such an important cause this weekend!
