Doctoral alumnus authors paper with major implications for research on digital media use
University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work recent doctoral alumnus Dr. Craig Sewall is part of an international team, led by Dr. Doug Parry at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, that authored the recent paper in Nature Human Behavior entitled “A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Discrepancies Between Logged and Self- Reported Digital Media Use.
New Pittsburgh Wage Study report released
The new Pittsburgh Wage Study report "Motivations, Barriers, and Strategies: Perceptions of Human Service Organizations to Proposals to Raise the Minimum Wage" utilized in-depth interviews with 25 leaders of Human Service Organizations of varying budget sizes in the Pittsburgh Area to understand their perceptions of proposals to raise the minimum wage and capacity to do so.  This report was authored by doctoral student Christina Huerta, MSW alumna Daisia Williams, Alyssa Parr, Research Associate at Center for Applied Research & Educational Improvement, and Associate Professors Jeffrey Shook & Rafael J. Engel.
New article by doctoral student and faculty member
Doctoral candidate Laurenia Mangum, and Assistant Professor Darren Whitfield, along with colleague Jaih Craddock (UMaryland School of Social Work) published an article in AIDS Care entitled “Associations in preventive sexual health service utilization and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) interest among young Black women in the United States, 2018 “.

Scholarship Program
NCPG has established the Diversity in Leadership Scholarship Program to attract more diverse leaders into the problem gambling field and NCPG leadership by bringing more diverse participants to the 2021 National Conference on Gambling Addiction and Responsible Gambling. Link for application.
