Drive-in movies are back! Raya and the Last Dragon The pandemic gave Skokie drive-in movies; now we're doing it every summer! Join us for "Raya and The Last Dragon," and live in the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons live together in harmony. When sinister monsters known as the Druun threaten the land, the dragons sacrifice themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, those same monsters have returned, and it's up to a lone warrior to track down the last dragon and stop the Druun for good. One night only at Skokie Sports Park East's converted drive-in theater! Sports Park East, 3459 Oakton St. Thursday, July 8, 8:30 p.m. Gates open at 7:15 p.m. Tickets – $16/vehicle

Devonshire Park free concert Featuring: Spoken Four

Chicago's Spoken Four will deliver a fantastic free performance with a repertoire of songs from the ‘50s to today’s Top 40. Their vocalists and musicians will lift you to your feet and have you dancing like there’s no tomorrow! Bring your own chairs and blankets. Arts in the Park & Skokie Pride Poetry Walk in Devonshire Park This is a free event where you can bring your most beautiful thoughts to further adorn our lovely outdoor park. Chalk will be available to participants to write or draw inspirations along the walkway. Cards and string will also be on hand to compose beautiful sayings for hanging in the trees, for others to read and enjoy. Since this is Skokie Pride month, feel free to add your Prideful messages! Story Stroll at Schack Park through Sunday Bring the family to various Skokie parks this summer and read the stories on display! Every two weeks, a designated park will feature a children’s book laminated and attached to kiosks along our park path. As you stroll along the trail, you will be directed to the next page in the story. Enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time! Book titles will be announced the week prior to each scheduled park date. Through June 27 Schack Park – Book: Rosie Revere, Engineer Where some people see rubbish, Rosie sees inspiration. Alone in her room at night, shy Rosie constructs great inventions from odds and ends. Hot dog dispensers, helium pants, python-repelling cheese hats. Rosie’s gizmos would astound—if she ever let anyone see them. Then, a fateful visit from her great-great-aunt Rose, shows her that a first flop isn’t something to fear—it’s something to celebrate! The new Shabonee Park playground is open The district's newest playground is open, making Shabonee Park the seventh playground renovated in Skokie this year. Peccia and Pohatan Parks are also set for renovation this summer. All Skokie playgrounds have been uniquely and safely designed with state-of-the-art play structures.

Now offering Season Pool Passes

Season Pool Passes are now on sale –– online and at the Weber, Oakton and Devonshire Centers. Season Passes are valid at both the Devonshire Aquatic Center and the Skokie Water Playground for open swim and lap swim. Skokie & Evanston residents: $50/person. Non-residents: $85/person.
