Bring the family to various Skokie parks this summer and read the stories on display!
Every two weeks, a designated park will feature a children’s book laminated and attached to kiosks along our park path. As you stroll along the trail, you will be directed to the next page in the story.
Enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time! Book titles will be announced the week prior to each scheduled park date.
Through June 27
Where some people see rubbish, Rosie sees inspiration. Alone in her room at night, shy Rosie constructs great inventions from odds and ends. Hot dog dispensers, helium pants, python-repelling cheese hats. Rosie’s gizmos would astound—if she ever let anyone see them. Then, a fateful visit from her great-great-aunt Rose, shows her that a first flop isn’t something to fear—it’s something to celebrate! By Andrea Beaty.
