Tildenville earns an 'A' from the FLDOE!
Florida Department of Education school grades were released in the middle of July and because of our AWESOME Tigers, Tildenville is an 'A' rated school! According to the raw data, we earned 28 more points than last year! Our students and staff absolutely blew this test away!
Some of our overall score increases include:
- 2% increase in Reading
- 1% increase in Reading learning gains
- 26% increase in Reading learning gains for the bottom quartile
- 14% increase in Science
- 4% increase in overall test scores
We are so proud of the progress our Tigers made this year!

The back-to-school tax holiday, running from Aug. 2 to Aug. 6, will temporarily eliminate sales taxes on clothes that cost $60 or less, school supplies that cost $15 or less and personal computers that cost less than $1,000. For the 2019-2020 school year, our SAC (School Advisory Council) will be meeting the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4pm in the Media center.
SAC meetings are open for all parents and staff to attend. Come hear about what is happening in the school. Learn about the assessments students are taking, the results of those assessments and how the school will use that data.
We have an open Secretary position that is waiting to be filled. If interested, please email

Good afternoon,
I trust that you have had a great summer!
As you are aware, the first day of school is just around the corner. Meet the Teacher is scheduled for 8/8/2019. Due to the size of the VPK program this year (40 students), VPK will hold two sessions - one a 2 P.M. and one at 3 P.M. These times will free up parents and allow them to focus on meeting the teachers of siblings who also attend Tildenville Elementary. I will send a link so that you can sign-up in advance for the a session. We will meet in the media center and then visit the classroom. Please keep in mind that the room will be packed. Since everyone at the school will be organizing their rooms, I will not have additional help during the presentation, so there won't be anyone available to watch the children. Parents will be responsible for watching their own child.

Some of you attended the orientation in May, and this session will review the same information. In addition, we now have the VPK packets and will have the OCPS forms available for your to complete and turn in. We will also have computers set-up and ready to complete the free and reduced lunch forms online. Although the VPK program does not offer free or reduced lunch, the system collects important demographics that is used by the county and state that helps determine whether the school may be eligible for funding in other areas. Therefore, the information collected is important for our school.
Many of you have asked about the VPK supply list. It is available on the school's
Facebook page. I am also attaching a copy. Feel free to drop any supplies on meet the teacher night.

Tildenville Recycles!
Tildenville has a year-round recycling bin for our community.
What: Household Recycling Bin for gently used items
When: 24 hours
Where: Tildenville Elementary School (parking lot on Brick Road)
Why: Tildenville Elementary School has a year-round recycling bin. You are able to drop off your gently used recycling items (clothing, shoes/boots, hats/caps, belts, purses, backpacks, etc.)
Proceeds will directly benefit our school and students.
