As faculty, students and staff return to Florida Atlantic University's John D. MacArthur Campus, you may notice some changes that happened over the summer. We have been busy renovating, replacing and adding new pole-banners around the campus this summer. This is just the first wave of new signage that you will see going up as we prepare for our 20th.
As an anthropologist of religion, it’s hard for Jacqueline Fewkes, Ph.D., an associate professor of Anthropology of the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College to pin down her research focus to just one element of life. Rather, her expertise in anthropology allows her to see how religion is lived and practiced, how material goods transform us as much as we transform them, and how spaces reflect our lives while helping to craft them.

Tying these elements together, Dr. Fewkes latest project is a focus on the sometimes surprising, always interesting history and architecture of mosques in America. Listen to Anthropologist on the Street to hear more.
Legends Radio recently featured, Gregg B. Fields, Ph.D., executive director of Florida Atlantic University's Institute for Human Health and Disease Intervention (I-HEALTH), one of the university’s four research pillars, in their community focus program.

Fields will lead efforts to develop interdisciplinary research by combining expertise across many FAU centers and colleges as well as forging strategic health care and research partnerships in the region. I-HEALTH’s service regions will include Broward, Palm Beach, and Martin counties.
