Thank you for allowing your children to join us at Religious Ed!
Below you’ll find some information about this week's topics and announcements for upcoming events. Please ask your child about RE, and encourage them to share what they learned.

We will continue to begin RE in the church. We are so pleased that the children are already getting used to starting RE by spending time in prayer with God. With their reverent behavior, they are showing their love and respect for
Jesus Christ, truly present in the tabernacle.

Yes, Parents, you are always welcome to stay in the church
after drop off to pray Evening Prayer with us!

If you would like be with us for the RE hour as a parent aide , please register as a volunteer! https://www.stmichaelcp.org/religious-ed-volunteer-form

We would love to have your help to manage our wonderful students,
and to grow closer to God with them.

Nothing to bring this week. .
Last week we talked about our wonderful Patron's Feast Day! St. Michael the Archangel is a warrior angel we can pray to whenever we need protection or want to ask for the protection of others! Praying for the benefit of others is called Intercessory Prayer.

Ask your children: Do you know the St. Michael the Archangel Prayer?

Practice at home: St. Michael the Archangel prayer:

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle!
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
And do thou, oh Prince of the Heavenly Host,
By the power of God,
thrust into hell, Satan, and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen!

We are praying this prayer at the end of RE each week!
Play the song above to hear our closing Prayer and Worship song, "Me Without You". Last week, the 1st graders and 4th graders won the prize for dance party moves! The prize is a giant jewel Ring Pop...because we are children of
The King!
Special Note for 2nd Grade Parents:

This Wednesday, October 3 at 4:30 is the first Parent Meeting for your child to make their First Reconciliation in January. If you aren't able to attend the meeting this week, you must attend the meeting on Sunday, November 4th at 1:00 PM. Both meetings are in the parish hall.

This is a required meeting for all parents (no children, please). Father Brian will give the catechesis of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Shawna Davidson will be there to explain the details of this truly wonderful year in your child's life!

Each family will receive a folder of important information along with copies of the books your children are using in their RE classes. Thank you for making time for this important meeting!
