FC Richmond Futsal News
Our futsal programs are off to a great start! Practices are well under way and we had our first 20 friendlies at the MAC on Saturday. The positive response to our new facilities was outstanding! The league games begin this weekend. We look forward to hosting the Jefferson Open Futsal Tournament on December 15th & 16th!
Welcome to our New Junior Board Members!
We are excited to announce our first FC Richmond Junior Board of Directors! Welcome to Rebecca Finch, Bella Graber, Dylan Johnson, Caroline Kiefer, Zoe Long, Zach Overstreet, Quinn Pikunas, and Nick Vantre. The Junior Board will act on behalf FC Richmond as ambassadors who will develop leadership skills while engaging FCR families and players in making a difference in our community. We look forward to all of the great work they will do!
Community Outreach
Our staff recently had the opportunity to volunteer at Toys for Tots in preparation for the holiday season! The mission of Toys for Tots is to distribute new toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. We enjoyed our time sorting toys and preparing bags for families in need. If you or your team are interested in getting involved with Toys for Tots, you can find more info HERE .
Soccer Clinics & Training Opportunities
Total Soccer Training (TST) is a supplemental training program designed to help players reach their full potential. TST offers small group training and one-on-one training. TST training options and pricing structure have been improved to offer more options while saving money! TST group training prices have been lowered, and players can sign up with their OWN group if they would like to train with friends, teammates, etc. For more information click HERE .
Non-Stop Soccer's Holiday Mini-Camp is an indoor camp that will challenge players of all ability levels. This camp is open to recreational and travel team players ages 6-14. Players will focus on ball skills, small sided games, and having fun! The Holiday Mini Camp will take place at the MAC. "Beyond the Game" Featured Player, Abby Rieck
Abby Rieck, a longtime FC Richmond player and current U-19 Mystx player, recently gave a TED Talk titled “Embracing Your Inner Underdog” in front of an audience of hundreds of people. It focused on being an underdog in the college application process. She said that she was very nervous at first to speak in front of so many people but once she got on stage she began to feel comfortable. “I really just want to encourage people to put themselves out there and take a chance. I really contemplated saying no to the opportunity because I was scared of failure, but I’m really glad that I didn’t let that stop me,” said Abby. Through this TED Talk, Abby was able to go ‘Beyond the Game’ by inspiring many people to step outside of their comfort zones.
