WELCOME BACK AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TIGERS!

Our teachers are returning on Monday, January 6th while classes do not begin for the students until Tuesday, January 7th. As some of the segments in this and the prior issue illustrate, we were carrying great momentum heading into the final days of the 2nd nine weeks and we expect that to continue during week #1 of this 3rd nine weeks.

I hope that all members of our Tildenville family had a wonderful winter break hopefully sharing some quality time with family and friends. As for this week, I am looking forward to seeing all our dedicated educators back on Monday and then all of our wonderful Tigers on Tuesday morning for a successful, on-time start to 2020!

Academics - Math
Mrs. Ortiz's 5th grade classrooms are trying to "Escape the Classroom" by playing games and reviewing math skills just prior to winter break.

While somewhat difficult to see here, these students were using their computers to get their tasks, but were performing the math calculations by hand. For example, task #1 was to find the product of 97.45 X 0.78 = ?

Thank You Kids Beach Club!

Thank you Kids Beach Club for the delicious baked goodies! We enjoyed them during our holiday staff party.

Food for Thought at the New Year!

Be sure to get outdoors or get some exercise every week Tigers! The nearby World Health Organization (WHO) chart shows that while the U.S. may look better than some of the other developed countries, almost 75% of our young people do not get enough exercise.

Google search frequency for the words "healthy," "diet," and "workout" really pick up at New Year's!
