"
In conclusion, my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable."

Dear Concordia Alumna/us,
Can you believe it? Back to school supplies are flooding the store shelves and our minds are being forced to think about fall. We hope that, despite this sighting in the stores, you can enjoy the days that remain in our summer and live in the moments of joy that Jesus graciously gives to us each day. Here at CUAA, we are blessed with a beautiful campus as you know well. We've offered it before, but we mention it again: Stop by for a tour. August is the perfect month to see the summer flowers before they fade. Simply contact alumni relations at
alumni@cuaa.edu. In the meantime, we hope that you enjoy our news and notes below.

New Bible verse selected as campus theme for 2019-20 school year
Each year, our students work together to choose a new Bible verse to serve as the campus theme for the school year. This upcoming year, the theme is "Embrace(d)," and is based upon Jesus' parable of the lost son from Luke 15:20: "...his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him...." We will be unpacking this theme throughout the year, knowing we are embraced by the gracious arms of the Father, and challenged by His call for us to embrace each other and this hurting world. The graphic, pictured right, was designed by CUAA student Allie Milot to accompany the verse.

Save the dates for Homecoming - October 4-5
On Friday, October 4, join us for a Cardinals Alumni Social from 7 to 10 pm at the Holiday Inn, 3600 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor, MI. Tickets are $10 and include beer, wine, soft drinks, appetizers, and a chance to win raffle prizes. The event will give alumni and Concordia parents an opportunity to celebrate CUAA athletics, what has been accomplished and a look ahead for the future.
You are also invited to be a part of our alumni service project the morning of Homecoming on October 5. We will meet on campus to tie fleece blankets to give to young patients in our area children's hospitals. Current Concordia students will also join us in this fun and easy project. After that, we will tailgate, and then head into the stadium for the game. As always, the decades challenge board will be out, along with CUAA swag giveaways and prizes. Postcards and website registration links will be available in September.
