Whew!. and it will straddle between sidereal Pisces and Aries for eight months. That is because of the retrograde Mars. On Election Day 2020 when we vote for US President, Mercury stations direct, exactly what it did on Election Day 2000 when there was no decision in Bush v. Gore.

Hi all
Welcome to those of you who are subscribers and supporters, and to those of you who are receiving this newsletter for the first time. As I said in the January 2020 News & Views (click here if you missed it) we are in very interesting and intense times, which is going to be the hallmark of 2020.
In January we saw important astrological signatures that may be over but from which so many future events will emanate namely, the Jupiter-Ketu (South Node) conjunction, the Lunar (Full Moon) Eclipse, and the Saturn-Pluto conjunction.
As we move into February, the United Kingdom has just made the momentous move to break away from the EU, forging new trade deals and alliances between countries. Here in the U.S. as I write this on February 4th the Iowa Caucuses are still undecided, and we are heading for the final vote on impeachment. And there is so much else going on in the world.
But most overwhelming is the spread of the Corona Virus which will hopefully be contained but is being called by some as a possible pandemic. This may be the part of the events in February and March that I as well as other astrologers have called attention to since last fall when I talked about the conjunction of Mars and the South Node (Ketu), followed by the dates when these two reach the solar (new moon) eclipse degree of December 26, 2019. In my 2020 Sensitive Degrees Workshop I spoke about Hong Kong and China in the news due to the solar eclipse of June 21, 2020, which is visible there, but will be activated prior to that date when Mars and Rahu cross that eclipse degree respectively. Mercury Retrograde
This is a repeat about the meaning of Mercury retrograde from my November 2019 News & Views but with the new dates of the next Mercury Retrograde. Remember that some people feel that Mercury retrograde begins when it enters into its shadow or retrograde arc period, which it did on February 2, just in time for the Iowa caucus debacle, which seems to echo a Mercury retrograde-like event. This means that the date that Mercury enters that retrograde arc (I prefer that term) is the same degree where it will eventually station direct. The date that it leaves the retrograde arc, is the same degree in which Mercury stationed retrograde. Any planets, points or angles between those degrees will especially be affected, and if you do not have anything at those degrees or aspecting those degrees just look at the house in your chart where it falls. If you do not know your chart and only know your Sun sign degree, you can also look at the house from that sign.
Mercury just entered its retrograde arc on February 2. I do not feel that it is already retrograde but that it indeed has started to slow down the flow of information, and it has already warned us that we must be very clear in our communications, since that really is what Mercury retrograde is all about. We cannot always control if our computers slow down, or if there is a lot of traffic and delays, but what we can do is just take deep breaths, call up patience, and really focus on what is most important and to choose our battles wisely. there is no reason to get bent out of shape if your train is delayed, and if you are late for an appointment, just be clear what the problem is and the person on the other end will understand.
Ditto for signing contracts and any other important papers. Make sure you are clear, and you have asked all the questions you needed to. Do not hesitate to ask for a re-wording of something, and just make sure you cover all your bases. It is always good to show the contract to someone who understands what it is about.
What I am suggesting is something you should do all the time, but especially during periods of retrograde Mercury. Here are the dates and degrees below including the Sun-Mercury inferior conjunction, which always occurs midway between the retrograde and direct stations when Mercury is closest to Earth.
The following are the dates and degrees. If you have any planets or points between tropical 28° Aquarius 12-12° Pisces 53; and sidereal 4° Aquarius 10'-18° Aquarius 51' you may be feeling it a bit more. Just take care and take deep breaths. You are already two-thirds through.

Mars-Ketu (South Node) Conjunction
Feb 25. 7:07 pm GMT. Tropical. 6° Capricorn 25;
Sidereal 12° Sagittarius 22' Mula Nakshatra.
After the conjunctions of Saturn-Ketu (South Node), which occurred three times in 2019, and the Jupiter-Ketu (South Node) conjunction on January 8, 2020, we will once again as we do every two years experience the conjunction of Mars and Ketu (South Node). Because it happens often it does not mean there is always a dramatic worldwide event, however, if it comes in contact with eclipse degrees, it often does have that effect as it did on September 11, 2001, and as it may open that door this year, as the 19 year cycle of eclipses occurred in 2001 and 2020. But it does not mean it will be as dramatic as 9/11, but there may be a similar type of energy.
In short whether you follow tropical western astrology or Indian sidereal astrology, Mars is a planet that represents physical activity, aggression, assertion, entrepreneurial endeavors, sexual libido, and on the negative side, hostility, inability to express anger, war, battles, and impulsiveness. On the positive side, a strong Mars gives physical prowess, success through ambition, and the ability to keep going, like that energizer bunny. On the negative side, you can be accident-prone, be temperamental, and is attracted to the "darker" side of things. From the Indian standpoint, Ketu, is the wasteful end of the body, sudden highs and lows, and the ability to be destructive. It can also represent great spirituality, and loss or indifference towards material. The Indian scriptures say that Ketu acts like Mars, and so when these two planets are conjunct it is like a double Mars effect. I always urge those who do not use Indian astrology to look at this transit as potentially aggressive and explosive.
On a personal level use this energy to be active, focused, and move straight ahead. Get physical activity, release stress through your physicality, but do not overdo, since these are hot planets and can attract unwanted aggression and accidents, if you are not careful, as well as getting overheated, inflammation and infections, high blood pressure, tension, and accelerated heart beat. It is most important to view the area of your chart where the above conjunction takes place, which is tropical Capricorn, and sidereal Sagittarius. Anything that you may have in your chart between 4-8 degrees tropical Capricorn (or Cancer), or 10-14 degrees sidereal Sagittarius (or Gemini) will be especially affected. If you use Indian astrology, then look at in which house Sagittarius falls. If you use tropical western astrology, and do not know your ascendant, then look at where Capricorn falls in relation to your sun sign. Scroll below to see in which house Mars-Ketu falls and what it means.
Since Mars is not retrograde the conjunction will only occur once but it will be significant because Mars will conjoin the solar eclipse degree of December 26 at 4° Capricorn 06'. Sidereal. 10° Sagittarius 04' on February 22, followed by the Mars-Ketu conjunction on Feb. 25, and then finally on March 22, the South Node/Ketu will come to that degree. This means that in addition to igniting the house it falls in, if you have anything around these degrees, you should already have been starting to deal with an issue starting near the end of December, and this will finally be confronted and stirred up between February 22-March 22, if not a few days beyond that.
On a global level, the above timing holds true. Something may have begun to brew back around the eclipse and will become more intense this month and next month, especially between the dates mentioned above. We might see something that is also dramatic, that has to do with attacks, terror, earthquakes, death or removal of a leader. Chances are that since eclipses often reveal things that are hidden, and bring things out in the open, it is no coincidence that the coronavirus was reported in Wuhan around December 31, which is during eclipse season and just five days after the December 26 eclipse. The activation of that eclipse this month and in March may mean that the spread of this will get worse before it gets better, and as a result, will indicate an economic dip in the worldwide markets, especially as it affects China's exports.
When I spoke about the year ahead in my 2020 Sensitive Degrees Workshop we looked at the global eclipse path for the solar eclipse of June 21, 2020 where the eclipse was 100 percent visible through Hong Kong and parts of China and 75% visible in other parts. That means that this area of the world is accentuated and since this is an annular eclipse, the Nodes and other planets come to the degree of the eclipse within a brief span. Originally I thought this meant that Hong Kong would continue to see unrest and riots, but now that the virus has been revealed, it is quite possible that this is also what is represented by that eclipse (which I will talk more about in June). It takes place June 21, 2020. 6:41 AM GMT. Tropical. 0° Cancer 21'. Sidereal. 6° Gemini 18'. mṛgasira, which is a Nakshatra ruled by Mars. The eclipse is activated on February 16, 2020 when Mars occurs in tropical Capricorn/sidereal Sagittarius exactly opposite the eclipse degree so once again if you do have a planet or point around the degree of the eclipse, you may also begin to hear about more explosive things related to China, perhaps Corona virus. Then Rahu (North Node) will conjoin the eclipse degree April 25, 2020 so that the Eclipse will be the climax rather than the beginning of the annual eclipse which is going through China.
But for now remember that from the darkness comes the light, and many of the things that you will experience are going on in the world on a global level. They will of course have the domino effect of producing anxiety and fear and that is why it is so important to find peace in yourself, through whatever means you can. Meditate, pray, create, spend time with people you love, do the things that make you happy. And most important let us send that positive energy to the world while confronting head on the negative things that we have to discard from our lives that are bringing us down.
