Orchestra

5th Grade Families: 
Your child has the opportunity to be a part of the Delaware City Schools Orchestra Program next year as a sixth grader at Dempsey! Students have either already seen or will see the 
 Be a Part of the Orchestra Video Assembly during school to learn about each of the string instruments. To read about the benefits of learning a string instrument in school, read Why Strings by the 
American String Teachers Association.


Fifth grade students interested in joining orchestra should make sure to select orchestra on their Dempsey Scheduling Form by Wednesday, March 17th. For more information, please complete the 

(Please note, families of current fourth grade students will receive information about joining the orchestra at a later date).
PTO Spring Flower Fundraiser!


March 8th - March 22nd   
~Sale is completely online this year. Go to www.fundraiseit.org, click "Parents" tab, then "Online Shopping". Students have been given individual web codes to access the catalog & ordering. Please contact your student's teacher if you have not received their code.
~Store closes March 22nd.
~Pick up day will be May 8th at Delaware Christian Church.

Parent Communication


There are several ways to receive information about Schultz Elementary School and Delaware City Schools. Please check out the following:
  • District website - www.dcs.k12.oh.us
  • Text Messages: to receive text messages from DCS, opt in by texting the word YES to 67587 from the phone on which you want to receive the message.  The number must match the number we have listed in your students' contact file.  If you receive a message that the number is not in the DCS system, please contact the Schultz office and request to add your number or make a change to the number we have on file 
  • Schultz E-Mail List:    to be redirected to the DCS website and sign up to receive Schultz and DCS newsletters, special bulletins and other important information from Schultz Elementary School (check spam folder first time receiving).

School Hours 
Elementary school hours are 8:30 am - 2:55 pm (new dismissal time)
The building opens at 8:00 am for breakfast
Students enter the building at 8:20 am
Tardy bell rings at 8:30 am

 Absence Reporting Procedure
Please call the Schultz office at 740-833-1400 to report your student's absence (the SafeArrival absence reporting system will not be used for the 2020-2021 school year).  If your child's absence is not reported by 9:00 am, you will receive a phone call from the school office.
