Back to School
"Be Kind to Your Mind"

Summer time is full of fun adventures, like going to the beach, traveling with family and friends, and even eating a few scoops of ice cream.  Now, that school is approaching we all need to Be Kind to our Mind getting in the groove before school starts. Here are three reMINDers that will help your mind shine this school year:
  1. Go to bed early and get a good night's sleep. Set your alarm clock now, to get in the routine. *
  2. Find a place in your house to place all of your school supplies in (book-bag, lunchbox, folders, helmets, etc.)
  3. Take 10 minutes each day and do something relaxing - go for a walk, read a book or newsletter, or write in your journal/ notebook.
Prepare for a great school year by getting in the groove, right now!

Maisha Wilder,
School Counselor
I'm a School Counselor - What's your superpower? I am entering my seventh year as a school counselor, and my first year at Tildenville Elementary - WOOHOOO!!

My job is: to help you manage big feelings and work out problems; to create a school community of support and respect; and to remind you how special you are. My favorite phrase is "You Got This" because I believe in you, and I want you to believe in yourself. Cheers to a great school year!

I LOVE SCHOOL COUNSELING!

Mrs. Sickles, Art Teacher

Jane Sickles in her art studio

I am looking forward to working with all the amazing artists at Tildenville Elementary! We will be learning about the work of artists in various cultures, as well as experimenting with various tools, techniques and media in our own projects. My own art studies include work in stain glass, fibers/weaving, and painting.

Ms. Smith, Drama Teacher

Carrie Smith got her start in theatre at the age of four when she first performed a Mary Poppins medley for a packed house. She was deeply influenced by her junior high theatre teacher and went on to attend Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. After directing and acting in many plays at the University of Oklahoma, she went on to teach theatre for the past 16 years. She is looking forward to working with the diverse and talented students at Tildenville elementary and sharing her love for the art of theater!

Ms. Smith has taught theatre for the past 16 years and will be a fantastic asset for
Tildenville Elementary this school year!
