Mr. Slee's News
Dear Students, Parents, Grandparents, and Staff,
It is another busy week with a lot of great things going on at Saint Elizabeth's! On Monday we celebrated three students who participated in the Allen County Non-Public-School Association Distinguished Student Breakfast. We would like to congratulate three of our students; Eva Hudson, Lexi Dippold, and Jack Ellis for this wonderful achievement.
We again would like to congratulate our 8th Graders and wish them prayers. They went to the 8th Grade Liturgy Mass at the Cathedral with Monsignor Schulte on Tuesday and celebrated a beautiful Mass with 8 th graders throughout the entire Fort Wayne area.
This week, our teachers are sitting down with students and going over their most recent NWEA scores. The goal of these meetings are to compare scores and open the discussion of how and what students can do to continuously improve in their academic performance. The last reports will be sent home in the next couple of weeks.
On Friday we will honor our Blessed Mother Mary, as we celebrate her May Crowning after Mass. We will have a beautiful prayer service to honor her and ask for her guidance and prayers. I ask that we all send our intentions to her as we finish out the year.
We have some big events going on this weekend too! We are celebrating Catholic Schools Saturday night at the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Game time is at 7:05 p.m. and our very own Show Choir is singing the National Anthem! On Sunday we will be celebrating the career of our very own Mr. Palmer. Please come to the School Cafeteria between the hours of 10:30a.m. and 1:30p.m. for some light snacks, fun, and memories as we honor Mr. Palmer for a long and well-deserved vacation.
Finally, I want to reiterate to everyone that with the school year coming to an end, please talk to your children about maintaining high standards in terms of academics, spiritual life, and behavior. We at Saint Elizabeth's have high expectations and want everyone to do well in all areas and end the year on a high note.

Have a Blessed Week,
Mr. Slee
Assistant Principal

Birthday Bags
by:  Student Council

It's hard for many of us - adults or children - to imagine celebrating a child's birthday without a party or presents. But for many of the families we serve, finding the extra money to afford a child's birthday celebration is a struggle at best, and frequently impossible.

The Birthday Bag Project is designed to help these families by providing a small "party in a bag" for a child in need... and at the same time gives children with "more" the opportunity to learn empathy in a concrete way by helping another child.
The idea is to fill bags with everything needed for a small birthday party. Each bag goes to a different child. We would like the following donated items so that NJHS and Student Council can assemble the Birthday Bags.

Collection boxes will be in the atrium starting May 10th
May 18th. The following items are needed to make a child's birthday complete:
  • Cake mix
  • Frosting
  • Candles
  • Party plates/napkins
  • Balloons
  • 9x13 foil pan
  • Plastic party table cloth
  • $10 Target or Walmart scrip card (scrip cards should go the office with the Attn: Mrs. Brough or
  • Mrs. Spoltman)
