A Message from our Principals
Spring Has Sprung!
While most see spring as a sign of new beginnings, for educators, it’s often a time of nostalgia and reflection on a school year that is entering its home stretch. By now, the connections between our students and staff are deeply rooted. The classroom environment has transformed from a group of individuals to a family of learners. Like all families, each one is unique and corky in its own way, and by now, they’re all tightly bonded by their successes and struggles as a collective group. One of the immense joys of being an administrator is the opportunity to notice the nuances of each classroom’s culture and to see the enrichment that provides each child.

Students have experienced the vast majority of the curricular learning for the year, and April is the month to showcase their skills on the Wisconsin Forward Exam. While this is just one indicator of student performance, it’s an important tool for our staff to see our students’ strengths and areas for growth for the following year. The data will be paid forward to your child’s future teacher, so they can continue their academic growth seamlessly. It also helps provide a comparative benchmark for students on where they are in their learning journey.

Spring also signals more experiential, hands-on learning for our kids. Small sprouts grown inside the classroom will be slowly transitioned into our school garden. Hartje maple trees have been tapped and harvested by our 4th graders and turned into liquid gold. Fifth-graders who’ve been caring for trout will release them into a local stream. Physical education teachers are finally able to get outside and teach under the sunshine.

It’s an exciting and uplifting time at Pineview with plenty of learning yet to come!

Yours In Education,

Mr. Beyer & Mr. Frey
