New Church Directory INFORMATION NEEDED!

From Darcey Hale -- A special thank-you to those of you who have sent your directory information.  To contact Darcey, send her an email at  twoocelots@gmail.com

If you have not done so, please send the complete information listed below.  If I only get part or you say "just like last year" it means that I have to go into the directory and retype it.  Because of the difficulties that we had with the last directory (our first with pictures, etc.) I cannot do a simple cut and paste. Producing the directory is a very time-consuming process and having you send me the information as requested will save me a huge amount of time. Many thanks.

Please include:
Name(s) last name first
Address
Winter address (if you have one)
Phone number
Cell phone numbers (if you have them)
email address
birthdays (without year)

a celebration of Father's Day with a special brunch in Persell Hall.
UPCOMING DATES:

SUNDAY JUNE 24 - ANNUAL CHURCH PARTY 5-7PM AT THE WESTPORT YACHT CLUB

Dear Members and Friends of St. Johns,

It is hard to believe that we have been celebrating the fellowship of St. John's for the last 12 years in the form of what has become the "Annual Party."  But, it is true!

This year we will celebrate our fellowship at the Westport Yacht Club, formally the Bistro, on Sunday, June 24th, from 5-7 o'clock.  The restaurant is "right on the waters edge" with great views of the mountains. The format will be a cocktail buffet (hearty appetizers) and a cash bar.  There will be a $25.00 charge per person.  In case of rain, we will be upstairs where we can continue to enjoy the same feel of being "on the water", or even, "in the water"  :-)

It is a great time to visit with your church friends in a relaxed atmosphere.  Hope to see you there.  If you have any questions, please contact Linda Rockefeller at 518 962-2799, or Claudia Caveney at 518 963-7977.

Please use the tear off as your RSVP and make your check payable to: St. John's Episcopal Church, PO Box 262, Essex, NY  12936.  Please respond by June 19th.  Thank You!!!!

Prayers of the People

Bless all whose lives are closely linked with ours, grant that we may serve Christ in them, and love one another as he loves us. We give thanks for other blessings we now share...

Comfort and heal all those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit; give them courage and hope in their troubles and bring them the joy of your salvation. We pray for :

For Ed Kelly, Jr., Pam's friend Bryce Newcomb; Judith Moore; Dottie Hall Swinehart; Helene Gray; and others known to us....
We commend to your mercy all who have died.

Holy Day:  Columba:  Abbot of Iona, 597

Many legends have gathered about Columba, but there are also some historical data concerning his many works.  According to one story, Patrick of Ireland foretold Columba's birth in a prophecy

He will be a saint and will be devout,
He will be an abbot the big of royal graces,
He will be a lasting and for ever good;
The eternal kingdom be mine by his protection.

Let Us Pray:  O God, may the light of the Gospel shine our life and our labors in membrane of your servant Columba.  May we show our thankfulness and patience through our faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

Lost Scribbles from Father Craig's desk.

Please keep in memory all those who died on June 6 defending their country. How easy it is for us to forget.  Let us be thankful for our freedoms.
