#BLACKiD Exhibition Opening
#BLACKiD will be the second installment of the Black Identity art exhibition curated by Laura Gibson of Chiliad Creatives and Don Dudley of FOiR in concert with The Carr Center Gallery. Black Identity celebrates and investigates the many intersections of black culture such as sex, music, politics, racism and all aspects of the diasporic lineage of Black people. The exhibition features a diverse range of artists spanning a variety of mediums comprised of Detroit based artists. #BLACKiD will be on display for a month following the opening night until July 13th.

Artists Who Stitch Opening Reception
Please join us for an evening of wine, beer, refreshments and fiber based artwork. This exhibition was curated by Jack Summers. This group show highlights artists who incorporate needle-and-thread technique into their artwork. Exhibited artists include Jeanne Bieri, Sandra Cardew, Kelly Darke, Mary Fortuna, Jennifer Gould, Carole Harris, Sarah Mark, Marilyn Pruka, Scott Northrup, Dolores Slowinski, Mark Newport, Emily Wood and Boisali Biswas.

Punk Graphics & Shepard Fairey
This summer Cranbrook Art Museum dives head-first into the depths of punk and post-punk culture with the debut of "Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die: Punk Graphics, 1976-1986" and "Shepard Fairey: Salad Days, 1989-1999.". On Friday, June 15, join Art Museum Director Andrew Blauvelt, artist Shepard Fairey, collector Andrew Krivine to celebrate the opening of these two landmark exhibitions.

Join us for the opening party of our upcoming exhibition, Sanctuary. Meet the artists, have a drink and check out this show in which fifteen artists from Ypsi Alloy Studios explore their interpretations of the theme, Sanctuary. Ypsi Alloy Studios is a shared studio for artists to make, create, and collaborate. It was founded by Ilana Houten, Elize Jekabson, and Jessica Tenbusch in 2015 and is located in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Please join us for the opening reception of our first group photography show, Contemporary Views in Photography.
