Zone 7 seeks sponsors for Championship teams
|
The show season is beginning to heat up and the coming summer months bring exciting championship events for our junior jumper riders, including the Adequan/FEI North American Youth Championships. Zone 7 was one of the winningest zones from last year’s competition, where riders took home two gold medals in team competition, a bronze medal in individual competition, and several other top 10 placings individually.
This year our riders will be heading to Old Salem August 1-5. With the challenges of travel and the heavy burden of show expenses, our zone is working to support these young equestrians and their dreams. Our riders are in need of items such as team apparel- show coat, polo shirts, hat, gloves, belt, wind breaker/jacket, and horse gear- bonnet, open front boots and saddle pads. Any sponsorships or donations of any kind are incredibly helpful as many of these young riders work very hard and every little bit makes a difference!

The answer to last month's Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Quick Quiz was "
camped out
," because it is not a flaw that can be found on a horse's front legs.
Sixty-eight
percent of our members who answered the question got it correct!
Camped out is when the hind legs are set behind the plumb line that runs from the point of the buttock through the point of the hock, down the back of the cannon bone and to the back of the heel bulbs. The other choices, pigeon toed and club footed, were flaws that can be found on a horse's front legs.
