2018 National Recovery Month Toolkit Available
Each September, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) sponsors National Recovery Month to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and celebrate individuals living in recovery. This toolkit provides media outreach templates, tips for event planning and community outreach, audience-specific information on mental and substance use disorders, and other resources.

Things2Consider: Strategic Sharing
Whether it’s for personal, educational, or advocacy purposes, strategic sharing is a valuable skill for youth. This document from Youth M.O.V.E. National includes tips and resources to help youth share their lived experiences with others. 

National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month! This list from the TA Network's Cultural and Linguistic Competence team includes behavioral health equality resources for LGBTQ+, racial, and ethnic minority populations.

CDC Vital Signs: Suicide Rising Across the United States
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released new data on state trends in suicide rates. The results show that from 1999 to 2016, suicide rates rose more than 30 percent in half of the states and more than half of people who died by suicide did not have a known mental health condition.

Supporting Children's Early Brain Development

Linking Systems of Care for Children and Youth Technical Assistance Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA)
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) is seeking applications for a technical assistance provider to support the Linking Systems of Care for Children and Youth Demonstration Initiative. This project furthers the DOJs mission by dedicating training and technical assistance (TTA) resources to develop coordinated responses to effectively identify and assess child and youth victims and provide comprehensive services. Applications are due by July 5, 2018.
