Great news!! Our teen space is no longer under construction! We're feeling lucky and excited to have this space OFFICIALLY open and ready for use by 7th--12th graders! Stop by to study or borrow a book or manga for a study break! Note: while we want to welcome everyone to browse or borrow books from our YA collection, seating in our teen room is ONLY for 7th-12th graders! This project was made possible by generous donations from the Town of Marshfield, the Ventress Memorial Library Building Trust, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Mediterranean Cooking

Join us for "Everyday Gourmet: Joy of Mediterranean Cooking" (from the Great Courses series) on Tuesday, July 16, 10:00 a.m. This is part of Marshfield Lifelong Learning and open to adults of all ages. Presented by Culinary Institute of America trained chefs, come watch two segments and learn how to make your cooking more healthy and bright for delicious summer eating! "A Universe of Stories" Kicks Off!

Join us to explore "A Universe of Stories," our summer reading program for children, beginning with our kickoff party on Tuesday, June 18th from 4-6 p.m.! Take pictures in our space photo booth, make crafts, play games, and sign up for our Read and Bead summer reading program (for ages 4-12). Storytimes for summer kick off on Monday, June 24th, as does our Rubber Ducky Club for ages 0-4! Click Here to view our summer reading schedule for children of all ages.

Adult Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading is not only for kids!! Join the “Adult Summer Reading 2019” program between June 17 and August 17. Summer reading participants who complete 6 challenges will receive a free VML tote bag and a book of their choice while supplies last. This year’s challenges vary greatly from “Visit the VML website” to “Read a travel book.”

Teen Updates

Attention Teens: celebrate the stars with our summer after-hours stargazing party on Tuesday, June 18th at 8 p.m. Come also to learn more about winning prizes in our summer reading punch card program (for teens going into 7th-12th. Summer Highlights at VML

June Nature Photography Contest

We are hosting the second annual “June Nature Photography Contest," in honor of Nature Photography Day on June 15. Step outside this summer and submit your favorite nature photograph! Participants are asked to submit no more than 2 photos per person in a jpg file format to: nhickey@ocln.org by June 30, 2019 . Winning entries will receive a prize and be featured on our Facebook page !

New Fiction

Here are just a few exciting, new fiction titles you can check out at VML this summer. Happy Summer and Happy Reading!

Mrs. Everything, Jennifer Weiner's best book yet, follows two sisters from their childhood in the '50s through present day (Available June 11th).
