Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College announced five new Flagler Scholars!
The Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College announced five new Flagler Scholars. 
Renee Sealy, Deja, Vaughn, Nihasika Gopi, Jiana Baker-Waters and Mario Del Rio comprise the incoming Flagler class of fall 2019. The Henry Morrison Flagler Scholarship Program, created by The William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust supports exceptional undergraduate students, from the State of Florida, to attend the Honors College of Florida Atlantic University. The Henry Morrison Flagler Scholarship is a full merit award that provides extraordinary student-leaders with the financial freedom to pursue higher education goals and participate in annual enrichment programs. 
Autism friendly natural area opens in Jupiter!
The Florida Atlantic University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) helped open the first autism-friendly trail in Florida. Environmental Resources Management Director Deb Drum, County Commissioner Hal Valeche, County Mayor Mac Bernard, and CARD Clinical Support Specialist Dr. Jennifer Percival, cut a ribbon to open the North Jupiter Flatwoods Natural Area, Florida’s first certified autism friendly public land in the state, on May 9, 2019 in Jupiter. The certification, through FAU’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, signifies the result of a partnership between the county and The Learning Academy at the Els Center of Excellence.
Lunch & Learn: Innovations in Brain Health
Nicole L. Baganz, Ph.D., Florida Atlantic University Brain Institute served on a panel to discuss brain health, during Leadership Palm Beach County's Lunch & Learn held May 14th at the South Florida Science Center. In addition to Baganz, the panel included Pat McNamara, Palm Health Foundation; Renee Layman, Center for Child Counseling; and Scott Hansel, Community Partners. Attendees also explored the new exhibit, "Journey Through the Human Brain," created through a collaboration between the center and the FAU Brain Institute. 
Students attending the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors college can now major in Data Analytics. The Data Analytics concentration is designed to train students in the broad, interdisciplinary field of data science. Students will acquire proficiency in statistics and programming, and an understanding of problems and data structures in particular areas of study, through coursework taught by faculty at both the Honors College and the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience
Florida Atlantic University serves more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students at sites throughout its six-county service region in southeast Florida. FAU’s John D.
