Tickets for all three Black Panther shows at the 600 seat Genesis cinema for this Sunday 18th February have SOLD OUT!
In fact, the 4.15 pm show sold out in 3 hours! People are still fighting for tickets, so make sure you are early to get your seat if you do have a ticket.
This will be an historic event. Remember to dress up in your African, regal or superhero attire. At the moment, we have press interest from Channel 5, BBC and Italian magazines. This is the only Black Panther cinema 'takeover' in the UK where almost 2000 people will be coming together to enjoy three screenings of the film on the same day, plus Q&A with an all black expert panel.
BHW were the first to announce our screening on 15th December with the 1 pm show selling out in 5 days. Since then, institutions that previously ignored our requests have rushed to arrange imitation events.
Our unique approach is flavoured by the fact that we have been running African Superhero Days since 2010 (see review

) and did not just jump on the Black superhero bandwagon. The next African Superhero Days are on 25th February (sold out) and March 4th: tickets

In addition, to complement the interest in the art, black history, business and success of Black Panther we have arranged further Masterclasses with multi-media legend Terry Jervis. He will show how to be a producer not a consumer and reveal the paths that start in imagination but lead to actual wealth (see below).

Black Panther, what next? Terry Jervis Masterclass
Sunday March 11th 3-6pm
Blade (1998) was the first Marvel superhero to generate $100 million per film. We then had to wait 20 years for the next Black Superhero. Why? Black Panther is killing the game right now, but what took so long? What are the business and creative lessons to be gained from the billions generated out of African history and culture? Who will benefit creatively, financially and how?
Terry Jervis,
who has produced multi-media content for 3.5 billion people, will detail the artistic and business route from comic to cartoon to blockbuster movie. He will explain how he financed his own projects and how to protect and benefit from original content. He will also showcase his new African superhero animation, '
Spirit of the Pharoah'
which is a reboot of his VHS video hit from 1992.

1968 Race Relations Act and the Legacy of Black Lawyers

In 1968 the Race Relations Act became only the second law (since 1965) to protect the black population from discrimination. The law itself was not fully comprehensive and only came into effect due to intense lobbying from the African/Caribbean community. In this talk, Judge Peter Herbert OBE, founder of the society of Black Lawyers, will review the efficacy and legacy of the law itself as well as tell the history of black lawyers who have fought for equality. The talk will cover social/legal activity in housing, employment, policing, education and immigration.

About the speaker
:
Peter Herbert was called to the Bar in 1982. His professional career has involved a number of high profile human rights cases both here in the UK and internationally. His practice has involved representation of a wide range of clients and high profile cases from the Victoria Climbie case through to the Kamlesh Bahl employment case to appearances before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
