Purim teaches us that with or without a costume, we all have the ability to be a superhero. PJOW books are great for showing that costumes are unnecessary, and that the
plain-clothed hero is right inside you.

Dear PJ Families,
Tu B'Shevat, which falls on Wednesday, January 31, this year, is all about nurturing growth. In honor of the "new year for trees," take this opportunity to cultivate your child's creativity with fun nature crafts, and foster a love of reading with PJ Library books. Also, join us for Taste of Tu B'Shevat tomorrow at the Dwares JCC, between
9:00 - 11:00am and 4:00 - 6:00pm. This is a hospitality experience for members and guests to sample the seven species eaten during the holiday. The afternoon session will include some stories and crafts especially for the children. All are welcome!
This month, your children will be receiving books about Purim to help prepare for the holiday which will begin on the evening of February 28. Purim is always an enjoyable holiday for children and adults alike. Again, we will be celebrating this holiday at the Dwares JCC, together with the Jewish Community Day School of Rhode Island and Project Shoresh/Kollel on February 22 from 3:30 to 5:15pm.
We are now partnering with Om Yoga to offer classes to young children, either alone or with a caregiver. Owner and teacher Elyse Rotondo, featured in this article about the benefits of yoga for toddlers, will be at the Dwares JCC every Thursday, starting on February 15. You can view the schedule or register for classes online.
We are currently beginning to plan our program calendar for next year and would love to hear from you. What other types of new programs would you like to see? Are there any special visitors you would like us to try to bring to the Dwares JCC? Please share with us and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Sending you green and growth-filled thoughts.
